The bicycle racing seasons (road and mountain
bike) ended on a blast with Bike Bash 2007.
The party was to celebrate the passion, dedication
and community of cycling. The evening included
award presentations, pasta feed, refreshments, a
slide show, and more. The venue was Platte
River State Park, Mallet Lodge.
On the road racing side, Rider Of the Year (ROY)
awards were presented for numerous categories. I
am not familiar with details of road bike racing.
As such, I do not feel comfortable with commenting
on road racing. Suffice it to say: Congratulations
to the riders.
This year I attended my first mountain bike race.
Now I am addicted, not at a participant but
as photographer and spectator. The photos
I took are on the Mountain
Bike Races pages of this web site. The
sponsors of the races were recognized with mugs
with etched Psycowpath and T.H.O.R. logos. More
mugs were awarded to T.H.O.R. trail leaders,
and others. I received one of the mugs for
my work with the T.H.O.R. web site and trailwork.
Before the race winners were presented their
trophies, I was floored when they named me the recipient
of the PsycowSpirit Award! I was speechless.
Congratulations to the race winners.
The evening ended with a video montage of mountain
bike races, Thanks to Roxy, Ryan, the Psycowpath
Board and all of the workers. The bash was
a fitting end to the racing season and made me want
to do it all over again.
