C.A.R.P. - Little Rock, AR

Central Arkansas Recreational Pedalers (C.A.R.P.) maintains mountain bike trails on Camp Robinson (a state military installation). CARP membership is required to ride on the base.  Membership is available at some of the bike shops (I got mine at Arkansas Cycling & Fitness in N. Little Rock. The membership is a small  price for riding all the trails.

The trails (and the LIttle Rock area) are rocky. I rode the "5 Mile Loop", an easier trail.  I learned a lot about riding among loose rocks! Signage is sorely lacking.  I got lost a couple times.  Intersection trails are not usually marked.  Thenm when you see a sign, the trail name is not on the map.

CARP has a weekly ride on Wednesday at 6pm.

Boyle Park - Little Rock, AR

This was my best ride in Little Rock (June 07).  The loop off the basketball hoop parking lot is a nice, relaxing singletrack.  In Feb 08, I again rode at Boyle Park. heading to the relaxing loop.  On my secont circuit I noticed a side trail.  I discovered a longer, with some good climbs. Watch for the single track off the pavement.  The doubletrack is an access road.  Across Boyle Park Road is another loop - it is a rougher trail.  Lots of up/down and rocks.  The last trail starts across from the 2nd loop.  Up to the ridge, run the ridge, and down to the parking lot. The park also has a network of paved trails.

Allsopp Park - Little Rock, AR

I did not ride these trails.  Looked a little more that I want to tackle after the CARP ride.  There are paved areas to ride, too. Here are a couple pictures of a trails.

Santos - Belleview, FL

Thanks to Martin, I stopped in Ocala, FL on my way to my Army Reunion in Kissimmee.  Yes, Santos is a lot like Lake Manawa but larger.  It is really an Epic Ride.  There are nice, easy trails, some more difficult rides to tax my abilities and then there was some "are you kidding" trails.

Ocala Mountain Bike Association (OMBA) maintains the trails.  The trails are well marked. The mountain bike trails are a part of the Cross Florida Greenway.  A real pleasure to ride in the area.
