This original Model E speaker was introduced about 1927 along with the Model 37 and 38 AC radios.  By 1928 the Model E-2 and E-5 speakers were introduced. They are similar to the Model E but differed in size.  Early cone speakers offered better fidelity than horns but were still far from true-sounding. Lacking is the deep bass of today's speakers.
