Early in the morning, I headed from my motel in Mexican Hat to Monument Valley. Monument Valley is not a "valley" in the traditional sense. The area is mostly a wide mostly flat expanse, interupted by sandstone formations. It is one of the most photographed spots in the SouthWest. Monument Valley is a Navajo Tribal Park. To see the "Valley" you really need to pay the entrance fee and drive the Valley Drive. All of the photos here were taken from Valley Drive. After the drive, I stopped in the hotel/vistor's center for breakfast. Had a very good breakfast buffet. |
