Since I built the US Army and Vietnam page, I have been in contact with a few guys that served in the same units I did.  Some of them were there at the same time, some were close friends.  For anyone that served with the 199th Light Infantry Brigade, I strongly recommend the Redcatcher site:  www.redcatcher.org.

During most of my tour in 'Nam, my Chaplain and I were assigned to the 2nd Battalion 3rd Infantry - The Old Guard. These guys took me in a made me feel as much at home as an outsider could.  Recently, I started chatting with guys from Delta, 2nd/3rd.  Great group and they have once again made me feel at home.  In June 2004 I attended the reunion of Echo, 2nd 3rd.  This was a great experience.  More information and photos are available on the E-2/3 Reunion pages. Their website is: www.the-old-guard.org.  Webmasters of both these sites are doing a great job.

On these pages, I'm posting additional photos with more commentary.  If you've made it to page 2, you are probably interested in more than a cursory view. If you can provide me with any additional information or correct any errors I've made here, please do so.  I welcome your comments.

I believe the following pictures are some of the guys I lived with when back at BMB.  Can anyone help put names to these faces?

The following pictures were taken about the time my assignment changed from the 4th/12th at FSB Nancy to The Old Guard 2nd/3rd at FSB Blackhorse. I'm not sure what FSB these were taken at and any help would be appreciated.

There's a page of additional information and pictures from my assignment with the 2nd Battalion 3rd Infantry at FSB Blackhorse and FSB Mace.

These pictures are the last I took at the 199th.  The first 2 photos I believe to be the retiring of the unit at BMB. The third is the final group of Chaplains and Chaplains Assistant at the BMB chapel.  The final "Hail & Farewell" for the 199th Chaplain Group.

Any help with names in the Chaplains Group photo would be appreciated.  L to R:  ?, me, ?, ?, CH Gould, ?, ?.

Recently, I was cleaning in my office and came across a binder with some of my best slides.  In those were a group of sunsets from Vietnam.  The tropics bring out some rather interesting sunsets.
